Primal 500 is the opposite of a subscription box. We're a private club with a hard cap at 500 members. You get a personal concierge (Coach Chris) who knows your palate, numbered seat membership, access to rare cuts before they sell out, and complete transparency about every ranch. We don't send random boxes. We curate specifically for your family.
Our 500-member limit isn't artificial scarcity. It's quality control. We work with small ranches that practice regenerative agriculture. Their supply is naturally limited. By capping membership, we ensure every family gets access to the best cuts, Coach Chris can provide truly personalized service, and our ranching partners aren't pressured to scale beyond their practices.
Membership
Membership is by application only. Complete our brief application through a conversation with Magnus, our membership assistant. If approved, you'll receive your seat number and can begin shopping immediately. If we're at capacity, you'll join our waitlist and be notified when a seat opens.
Your seat number is your permanent position in Primal 500. Seat #47 is yours. It represents your place at the table, your priority for rare cuts, and your membership identity. Lower numbers indicate earlier members. The seat number travels with you throughout your membership.
The waitlist is typically 3-6 months, depending on member turnover. We don't rush this process. When a seat opens, we ensure the next applicant is the right fit. The waitlist isn't a bug; it's proof that what we offer is worth waiting for.
There is no annual membership fee. You only pay for the products you order. Our model is built on the belief that quality speaks for itself. We don't need to lock you in with fees. Members stay because the experience is exceptional, not because of a contract.
Yes, you can cancel anytime. We believe you should stay because you want to, not because you have to. When you cancel, your seat opens for the next family on our waitlist. Some members pause temporarily rather than cancel. Just let Coach Chris know your situation.
Products & Sourcing
We source exclusively from American ranches practicing regenerative agriculture. Every ranch is personally vetted. We know the ranchers by name, visit regularly, and can trace every cut to its exact source. No feedlots. No antibiotics. No hormones. No compromises.
Grass-fed, grass-finished means the cattle eat grass their entire lives, from birth to harvest. Many "grass-fed" labels allow grain finishing in feedlots for the final months. Our cattle never see a feedlot. This produces beef with higher omega-3s, more vitamins, and the flavor profile that comes from cattle living as nature intended.
We offer the full range of premium cuts: ribeyes, New York strips, filet mignon, dry-aged selections (30, 45, 60+ days), heritage breed specialties, and limited releases like Japanese A5 wagyu. Coach Chris can recommend cuts based on your preferences, cooking style, and what's exceptional this week.
Yes. We offer both American wagyu from heritage Akaushi cattle and authentic Japanese A5 wagyu when available. Our American wagyu comes from ranches we've worked with for years. Japanese A5 is limited and allocated by seat priority. Coach Chris will notify you when it's available.
Beyond beef, we offer heritage Berkshire pork (Kurobuta) from pasture-raised farms. These heritage breeds deliver flavor and marbling that mass-produced pork simply can't match. Let Coach Chris know if you'd like to explore beyond beef.
Coach Chris
Coach Chris is your personal concierge, part meat sommelier, part family nutrition advisor. He learns your family's preferences, remembers what you've loved, knows what's coming in, and proactively recommends cuts you'll enjoy. He's available 24/7 through our chat interface.
Coach Chris learns from every interaction. He tracks your order history, notes your feedback, understands your cooking style, and remembers your family's preferences. Over time, his recommendations become increasingly tailored. He might say, "Your kids loved the ribeye last month. We have similar marbling in this week's New York strips."
Absolutely. While Coach Chris enhances the experience, you can browse our full catalog independently. Many members enjoy both: exploring on their own and getting Coach Chris's recommendations when they want guidance or are looking for something special.
Ordering & Delivery
You can order anytime through our member portal. Browse independently or chat with Coach Chris for recommendations. There's no minimum order and no subscription schedule. Order when you want, what you want. Orders are packed fresh and shipped directly to your door.
Every order is vacuum-sealed, flash-frozen at peak freshness, and shipped via FedEx in insulated packaging with gel packs. Orders placed before 10AM EST Monday through Thursday ship same day and arrive the next day. Order today, grill tomorrow. Weekend orders ship the following Monday. Free shipping on orders $250 and above.
Your satisfaction is guaranteed. If any cut doesn't meet your expectations, contact Coach Chris. We'll make it right, whether that's a replacement, credit, or refund. We stand behind every cut because we know exactly where it came from and how it was raised.

No. We don't have sales, discounts, or promotions. When something is worth it, you don't discount it. Our pricing reflects the true cost of ethically raised, heritage breed beef from small ranches practicing regenerative agriculture. We have standards, not sales.
Grocery store beef comes from industrial feedlots optimized for volume, not quality. Our beef comes from small ranches where cattle graze on open pastures their entire lives. The ranchers we work with can't compete on price. They compete on quality, animal welfare, and environmental stewardship. You're paying for what matters.
Founding members (Seats #1-8) and Ambassador members (Seats #9-50) receive tiered benefits based on their early support. All members receive the same exceptional products and access to Coach Chris. The primary difference is in early access to rare cuts and limited releases.
Health & Nutrition
Grass-fed & finished beef offers several nutritional advantages: higher omega-3 fatty acids, more conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), higher levels of vitamins A and E, and no exposure to antibiotics or added hormones. For families prioritizing nutrition, the source of your protein matters.
Beef is an excellent source of iron, B12, zinc, and complete protein, all essential for growing children. Our grass-fed & finished beef provides these nutrients without the concerns of antibiotics or hormones found in conventional beef.
